Social Activities

Meet Your Gay & Lesbian Neighbors!

AGLA social activities are organized for you to spend enjoyable time with other gay men and lesbians in and around Arlington. We strive to provide a wide variety of events each month to suit the diverse social, entertainment and cultural interests in our community.

Our parties, happy hours, dinners, theatre nights, and picnics, and other social events regularly attract large crowds, and we welcome our "greater Arlington" neighbors. We have many friends and AGLA members in Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Washington, DC, and even the Maryland suburbs who join us at our events, so please feel welcome wherever you live. We even have our AGLA Family group for gay and lesbian families with children.

We often combine our social activities with our community service projects. Our Annual Holiday Party regularly raises money for local agencies, and we collect canned goods for the Arlington Food Assistance Center. Some of our Happy Hours benefit local groups, such as our recent efforts to raise money and supplies for the Arlington Animal Welfare Society and donations for the AGLA College Scholarship Fund. AGLA also hosts tables at many annual galas, including the Mautner Project for Lesbians with Cancer, PFLAG, and HRC.

AGLA Family for LGBT with kids
...and we feature Annual Events such as the Pride Week Picnic, Winter Holiday Party and our new Arlington Equality Awards program to recognize significant allies in the community.
